7mate increases audience share

Seven Network's new digital men's channel 7mate has doubled its
audience share one week after launch.

The channel begain airing on the 25th September with a 1.1% share, but
increased its prime-time audience share between 26 September and 2
October to 2.2%.

Nine Network's Gem launched the day after 7mate with 1.1%, but has
only reported a minimal gain, increasing its prime-time audience share
to 1.4%.

The nightly ratings for Sunday 3 October saw 7mate achieve audience
share of 3.2%, while Gem notched up 0.9%. Gem fared better last night,
with an audience share of 1.9%, while 7mate fell to 2.7%.

7mate is Seven Network's third free-to-air channel, and targets 16 to
49-year-old males. The channel airs Family Guy, 30 Rock, How I Met
Your Mother and American Dad.

Gem is Nine Network's third free-to-air channel, and targets women
aged over 35. The free-to-air digital channel features shows such as
Weeds, The Big C and Wife Swap.

Saturday's AFL Grand Final rematch attracted an average audience of
2.68 million viewers, out-performing the NRL Grand Final on Sunday,
which pulled in 2.091 million viewers.

However, the audience for the AFL Grand final rematch between
Collingwood and St Kilda, which saw Collingwood win by 56 points, did
not rate as highly as the original match, which drew 2.76 million
viewers.

Meanwhile, Ten Network's coverage of the Commonwealth Gamesin Delhi
has consistently hit ratings of over a million viewers.

Ten's airing of the Women's 200m Freestyle Final netted 1.05 million
viewers; the Women's 200m Individual Medley Final had 1.12 million
viewers; and the 4 x 100m Men's Relay pulled in 1.03 million viewers.

I watched some weight lifting and some wrestling and boxing
the rest is lost to me
th other 23.4 hours if the day get used for good stuff
