Breaking campaign: Freeview to road block Sunday with new ad

Freeview will launch a TV campaign on Sunday night as it looks to push
free-to-air television’s digital offering in the lead up to Christmas.

The launch of the campaign is also well timed for the launch of
Freeview’s latest digital channel, ABC3 next week.

A “road block” across the ABC, SBS, Seven, Nine, Ten, Prime, WIN and
Southern Cross will air on Sunday at 6.29pm. The aim of the campaign
is to enhance consumer’s awareness and understanding of Freeview as
the FTA digital platform in Australia, and to encourage them to visit
their local retailer or the Freeview website to find out more about
“making the switch.”

Created by Banjo, the TVC feature real people, as opposed to actors,
to portray the passion many consumers have towards free-to-air
television and highlights the fact Freeview content is free and easy
to get.

Is it true that Freeview imposes modifications on the menu of items
(like recorders) they endorse? Are we kept informed about this as well
as all the rest they spend big to inform us?
